Homer-ward Bound!

The last couple of weeks have been pretty uneventful. Eat. Sleep. Eat. Sleep. Eye exam. Sleep. Eat. Wrestle with Zachary. Sleep. Eat. Repeat, more or less. Daddy would like you to think that is the reason there haven’t been many updates. He might also try to tell you it is because he’s been busy setting up cribs and changing tables and bassinets at home. The real reason is that he’s been busy watching Capitan America, Thor, and Ant-Man. Without me. Jerk.

I’m sick of not being included in all of the fun and I figured it was about time I do something about it. So on Sunday night I pulled out my feeding tube. See? That led to the nurses leaving it out. I knew I was ready!

On Monday I heard the nurse tell Mommy to bring my car seat in for the car seat test. I took the test late on Monday night. Not only did I pass the test with flying colors, the nurses said that I did things in that car seat that they hadn’t seen since the great Boudin Thériot scored a perfect 10 on all three score cards back in nineteen dickety two. It’s such an honor to be compared to a legend.

Since I can keep myself warm, eat on my own, breath on my own, and have been spell free for more than five days I get to go home tomorrow! Yay! I’m in a good mood so here are some more photos of me for you to look at.

Really dad?

Mom, you’re the best!

Feeding Time

I saw Zachary take a bottle yesterday. It didn’t look all that hard.

And you know what? It wasn’t. Whatever is in that bottle, once it touches your lips, it is soooo good! I drank the whole thing.

And because daddy held the bottle for me I was able to use my hands to style my hair. It took a while but when I was done daddy and I shared the same hairdo. We’re a couple of good looking guys!

Food!

There I am. Getting fed. I love being fed. I used to be fed exclusively through a tube. I could eat and sleep. I was a real multitasker. A while back I mentioned that I was getting special time with mommy to learn another way to feed. And now I’m learning an even different way. I have to be awake to eat sometimes now. I can’t simply sleep through it. I kind of liked it better before but this is what mommy and daddy say I have to do if I ever want to come home. I plan to be a quick learner.

This isn’t my first bottle. Daddy gave me my first bottle and I drank it all up. But mommy didn’t take pictures of it.

(Note: A nurse actually gave me my first bottle in the middle of the night but it seems important for daddy to think he gave me my first bottle so I’ll humor him for now.)

Update: Mommy actually did have photos. Both of daddy feeding me and of my first bottle!

Grand Entrance

Hi Zachary! I’m here!

I missed you big brother. I’m glad we’re back together again. We’re going to have so much fun together.

Also, I miss all the nice nurses from the NICU. Do you?

The New Digs

Well, it hasn’t even been two days and I was just getting used to the peace and quiet (can you tell?) and guess who turned up like a bad penny? Yeah. That guy. My brother Henry. I didn’t even get to show you my new setup before he staked his claim! Anyway… here is what the place looks like. That’s him in the background of the bottom photo.
